I clearly did not get a decent base coat prior to gel application and I could literally feel the polish Burning my nail beds when I was placed under the light to dry.
Oh... there was also a lady that was Literally HOVERING OVER MY HANDS and humming/singing what sounded like a Vietnamese Spiritual and I'm sure she was singing to him about how he better hurry up or she was gonna cut him. I don't know, but it made me Extremely uncomfortable as I already have PTSD and terrible anxiety and was in an unfamiliar setting.
I go there for mani pedi every other week .. they are very friendly, attentive and do a great job. I have no complaints. I've heard the woman hum a song and I quite frankly enjoyed it she has a sweet sounding voice. He is talkative and can be funny at times. They all make me feel very comfortable.. relaxed atmosphere and they don't treat you like a number. I can tell thier friendliness is not fake or forced. My gel nails always come out beautiful with no problems. People have to understand there is no such thing as perfect and need to learn to relax lol. I will continue to go and if they make a mistake I will give them a chance to fix it .. if it persists then I'll find another place to go but so far they have been great.
It was July 4th when I went in. There were only workers and I was taken in by a male tech for a mani/pedi.
I've gone here twice and both times were very pleasent. I've been to many nail salons & this is a good one. A girl named Samone (sorry if that's spelled incorrectly) did my nails recently. She was sweet & they turned out beautiful.
Love Sueann! I'm a very picky client with very long nails. Sueann is meticulous and an excellent nail tech. I would recommend her and her salon anytime to everyone. I have never left disappointed and she guarantees her work.
FYI: My regular nail tech was Extremely upset that someone did that to me and charged me for it! (She also made me promise to Never set foot in That particular salon again.)
Now let's get to my results (which I actually had to drive to my regular nail tech in Mt. Pleasant 90 minutes away to FIX what had been done to them!):
While I was in the pedi chair, a client of theirs came in to get a nail fixed and one of the techs goes "I ain't doing it!" as the lady was walking in the door. That particular tech was apparently keeping herself busy by helping another coworker with her nails.
As a result of my first and only visit to this salon, I'm out $60 (yes, I tipped Only because I'm not an ass and he did work me in without an appointment and on a holiday)... but my Nail Beds are Screwed because of the cheap gel polish and lack of base coat! Now I'm going to have to grow out my nails again for them to look ok without polish.
My daughter went with her cousin on Thursday to get her nails done. When I saw them on Saturday, the nail looked horrible. The guy did not paint the whole nail, she had one nail that was slanted, as well as on Friday a nail popped off. I will be taking her back to get this redone, and I am not paying another $25.00 for their hacked up job. She will not be going back there.
I honestly think a 3 year old could have done a better job.
I'd love to get my money back, but I highly doubt that's gonna happen. My money is lost, but the lesson was learned. I just don't want anyone else to learn the hard way.
Hands down the Worst Experience I've Ever had at any nail salon.
When I started to leave, the tech that worked on me, Knowing that my nails were in Deplorable Condition (way worse than they were when I came in), charged me $51 and said "You wear for couple day and if no like come back. I fix for free..." and my response was "But I already don't like it Now" as I was basically pushed out the door because they all just wanted to go home.
The man that worked on me was very friendly (the Only reason for the one star I gave!), but the Entire time I was there, the other workers (one in particular, but most joined in) were complaining about having to be there that day and how upset they were that the rest of their coworkers didn't have to be.
And when I left there, my nails were all extremely Slanted and not even smooth on the edges even though I was trying to explain this to the tech during my visit and get them to fix them there before I left! The polish was all bubbled up in places, uneven, on my skin, and under my nails... and a few of my nails weren't even painted all the way. There was even a place where my nail Peeled while he was filing and he saw it, but ignored it and painted over it as if it wouldn't be horribly noticeable!
Now, I understand that it was a holiday and they didn't want to be there, but if they couldn't afford the time and patience to give me Quality service, I wish they had just told me they couldn't work on me that day at all. My nail beds would have thanked them, I'm sure.
I got gel polish per usual (which must have been the Cheapest gel polish on the market)...
