This is a great place especially for those that our new to our town.
I just joined horry county libraries and I've been to Surfside Library 3 times. They are not friendly. Made me feel like a burden to them. They act as though it's a difficult task to help some. I met 4 employees and two volunteers. I can't complain about the volunteers. They were nice. I have transferred to Socastee Library as my home library. I will not go back to Surfside.
This beautiful library is such a staple for The Southend of Horry County. Love it!
Staff is exceptional especially Maria on travel programs.
Helpful staff , full selection of books and media . Plenty of computers available. Good source for inexpensive used books of all varieties. Children's reading hour available. Comfortable atmosphere.

I love all libraries but Surfside is a special in my heart since I volunteered there for a while and the people are great. Lots of CDs on books which which let me "read" while I'm in the kitchen or taking a trip well staffed and well organized.
