Bark Park North (65th Avenue Myrtle Beach) and Bark Park South (Market Common area) are both much bigger and nicer, but if you find yourself in the Surfside area and want to let your pup get some energy out this is a good choice. It's reasonably well maintained and the people and dogs we've met there have all been friendly.
Surfside Beach Dog Park is a smallish fenced in dusty lot close to the Public library. There is a great people-park nearby for kids (no dogs allowed) and it is only a few blocks from the ocean (where dogs must be leashed). This dog park has shady areas, and there is a lot to do in the surrounding area.
You never knowwhat improvements might have been made from one visit to the next.

Nasty Park-- some nice local-- tourist are nasty. No grass--mostly dirt. Better park is in Market Commons. Do ont worry about the rules NO one enforces them.
